Kristina Hixson Smith was born and raised in Dayton, Tennessee. She graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2009 with a degree in organismal biology and then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where she graduated with her doctorate in 2013.

She has been practicing since 2013 in Hixson where she loves to treat families and create relationships with her patients. Dr. Smith believes in a personalized eye care experience and wants to get to know you so she can help you see, look, and feel better. Dr. Smith formed Northgate Vision Associates in 2015 and she has enjoyed focusing on primary eye care with a passion for dry eye. She saw a need in the Chattanooga area for a clinic to be more focused on ocular surface disease and she is excited to continue to help her patients achieve more comfortable vision in the new dry eye clinic located inside of Northgate Vision Associates.

Outside of the office Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 small children, Murphy, Grant, and Maebry.
